Faberge Egg Pendant 925 Sterling Silver

Description

An egg in the Faberge manner, scaled to the palm of a pendant: 1.5 by 2 centimetres of hand-worked sterling silver, oxidised so that every engraved line holds shadow. The originals were imperial commissions and impossible objects; this is a wearable nod to them, made by hand rather than pressed from a mould, which is why the weight varies between 4.5 and 5 grams from piece to piece. Quietly ornate, and rather more interesting than it first appears at arm’s length.
