Gold chains in 9ct, 14ct and 18ct, in weaves from the fine Singapore twist to the substantial double rombo. Two things decide how a chain looks: the pattern of the links and the gauge of the wire. Diamond cutting — faceting the links after weaving — is what makes a chain glitter along its whole length rather than at single points. On carat: 9ct is harder and better suited to daily wear, 18ct is richer in colour and softer. Lengths and where each sits are set out in the size guide.
